The ebbs and flows of life can take a toll and some folks just don’t understand the power is within to rise above. As everyone else I had my own struggles. Family issues, mental abuse, substance abuse, death, physical chronic illness, fake love, trials and tribulations, money issues, false hopes, broken promises, long nights and early mornings, taking risks and living the fast life all while battling a deep dark secret of depression and anxiety.
The general consensus of depression is that it’s all in the persons head and with positive thinking can be overturned when in fact it is created by some sort of trauma that we’ve experienced physically or mentally or it can be an internal chemical imbalance which is no fault of our own. I had taken many steps to combat the depression and anxiety over the years. I had counsel and therapy, medication and hospitalization and for years was still kind of lost just going through the motions to try to live a “normal” life. During this period of time I learned the coping skills to be able to maneuver but never really healed. I finally reached a point in life where things became CLEAR and I was able to be brutally honest with myself about everything past and present. I analyzed people and life experiences along my journey. Healing in itself is a journey and doesn’t happen over night but that’s when it became clear that I needed to seriously use my efforts and notoriety towards mental health advocacy. The state of our people is in emergency. Depression and anxiety is at an all time high. PTSD used to be a term used to describe the mental state of returning military deployments after being in a war zone however it is now something that neighborhood children have due to the environment that we live in.
My goal became to live the happiest and healthiest life that I can while here on this earth, no matter what that looks like to anyone else. I want to encourage people to take their power back and to be able to do the same. There is no handbook for this thing called life so sometimes we are misguided or wear figurative blinders for a period of time because we’ve become complacent and content with what we know. You have to be willing to learn, accept, implement and discard, break generational curses and personal comfort zones to grow. It is not an easy task for anyone but can be done with the right support system and like minded individuals. I want to break the stigma that has been placed on mental health. I want people to know there are others that have fought a similar fight and that they are not alone.
I created X Radio because life is about the “Xperience”. Every interaction we have is an experience and we can learn from others stories and paths. I bring people together to tell theirs stories and involvements so people can relate and take in knowledge. The goal is to be able to normalize these thoughts and feelings and help people find the confidence, resources and support that they may need.
Currently the X Radio is on an elevation mission and will be returning soon with new content! STAY TUNED!
